Hints and tips for using Earthborn Pro Aqua Eggshell
- Prepare the surface, fill holes and sand smooth. If the surface has been painted previously then sand down until there is no shine. It’s a temptation to skimp on the preparation stage as it can be boring but the better the prep the better the final finish!
- For some jobs you may want to add water which can improve the flow of the paint and delay the drying time. Add the water and stir well for at least 2-3min until thoroughly mixed. The consistency should be like single cream.
- Approach the job in an organised way breaking it down into small manageable areas. For instance on a panelled door, start with the panels then do the horizontal frames and then finish with the verticals
- Don’t put too much paint on your brush. Roughly paint the area ensuring it’s completely covered and then brush out (this is called ‘laying off’) with long even strokes along the entire width or length. This will avoid dragging and visible brush strokes when the paint is dry.
- Don’t over brush going back over an area too often as the paint will be drying and drag.
- Lightly sand (de-nib) with a soft pad or 240 grade sand paper between coats. This will result in a smoother final finish
