Is our natural eco wallpaint washable/wipeable?
The wallpaints we sell from Earthborn and Biopin offer the wonderful matt finish our customers ask for as well as allowing walls to 'breathe' which is better for the building structure. This permeability means that they can absorb water, but also release it again. It also means wiping a wall painted with our matt wall paints may not remove marks as they may have been absorbed into the paint and could even make the mark worse by spreading it. Small marks are best removed with a large clean white pencil rubber!
So does this mean our paints are not wipeable? well yes and no. Our wall paints are no less washable then many conventional matt petrochemical paints however peoples' ideas of what is 'wipeable' can differ wildly so we have decided to take the following stance:
Our wall paints are not washable/wipeable on their own BUT, simply applying a coat of clear earthborn wallglaze on top will make your walls washable and more resistant to dirt. Wallglaze imparts a slight sheen to the surface and it can be applied just where it is needed (i.e. individual walls susceptible to dirt rather than whole rooms). It can also be applied retrospectively if you find a wall in need of extra protection in the future.
When was the last time you washed all your walls? our customers tell us that while they may want to wash a couple of walls e.g. in the hall or utility room. The majority of walls in their house rarely if ever need washing/wiping. Reinforcing the idea that only some areas in your home or office need to be washable.
